Future Into View

The television industry depends on the BARB service for many aspects of its activities and will be best serviced with an effective system if relevant views are helping to shape it. We want to ensure that we are fully in touch with the industry.

It is our aim to serve the industry consensus. To determine a route that delivers most of what most players wish to see from the measurement system at a price that the industry is able to fund.

Although not formally in consultation at present, BARB is always happy to receive views on current perceptions, priorities, influences and forecasts.

For information on BARB's current activities please visit the News and Bulletins sections of this website, along with the BARB 2010 pages.

June 2005 Launch Presentation

Future into View was the consultation process that BARB launched in June 2005. At a time of fast paced development in television BARB sought the industry's views about how television itself was changing, which elements may be most important and how BARB should respond to these factors. What the main influences were and what was needed from BARB? Our aim was to gain as clear a picture as possible about priorities and expectations for the future of the industry.

The consultation took a number of forms - the major phases being the initial on-line response mechanism, followed by group forums and depth interviews undertaken during the autumn of 2005.
