The SVOD Report: Charting the growth in SVOD services across the UK 9 January 2018 BARB has published a new white paper, The SVOD Report: Charting the growth in SVOD services across the UK. We’re often asked about SVOD services: how popular are they and can we measure viewing to them? Our panel data show that unmatched viewing (viewing 28 days+ after broadcast and non-broadcast viewing), which includes SVOD activity, is increasing. While we can’t yet measure actual viewing to SVOD services without the cooperation of the service providers, we can get a sense of the popularity of these services from our Establishment Survey, which asks questions about SVOD service take-up. This new white paper examines the latest Establishment Survey data (Q3 2017) to provide an insight into SVOD subscriptions across the UK. It investigates questions such as: How many UK households subscribe to at least one SVOD service? Which SVOD service is growing the fastest? How does SVOD penetration vary by region, or across different television platforms? Which age group has the highest level of access to SVOD services? To find out the answers to these questions and more, read the white paper here.
