Subscription VOD households 27 November 2019 In Q3 2019, the number of homes now accessing at least one of Netflix, Amazon or Now TV rose by 3% quarter-on-quarter; an increase of almost 400k homes. The proportion of UK homes with an SVOD subscription continues to edge towards 50%: in Q3 2019, 48.5% of UK households had access to at least one SVOD service. Now TV recorded a quarterly -4.4% drop in subscriber numbers in Q3 to stand at 1.8m. Both Netflix and Amazon increased subscriber numbers to reach 11.8m and 6.4m homes respectively. All three services still show significant year-on-year growth, with Netflix up 21.3% compared to Q3 2018, Amazon Prime up 30.5% and Now TV up 13.9%. In the third quarter, 5.49m homes had access to two or more SVOD services: 19.5% of all homes in the UK. Note: The number of UK households declined from 28.58m in Q1 2019 to 28.12m in Q2 2019.
